I have had about 7 years experience as a client of web hosting companies. I have been the client of 3 companies in 7 years and I will hands down say that uplinkearth was the worst hosting experience I have ever experienced. I have had several poor experiences with uplinkearth and I want to let people know about it. I am not a competitor of uplinkearth, I am a true customer that was pushed to the edge and you can feel free to email me at webmaster@flipmode.com to talk to me about uplinkearth. Anyways, I signed up for their web host plan and everything seemed to be fine until I started noticing strange amounts of downtime and missing standard features (such as password protected folders, ability to upload with asp, and file permissions). Sure they may have sent out an email notifying the clients about down time but there were several every week at prime times, like weekends and weekdays during normal business hours. I am the webmaster of a site that provides free email to thousands. They need to be able to access my site to check their email. You can see why I needed my website available. I spent 5 years gaining members to my free email and now I lost many due to uplinkearth’s abundance of downtime. The poor service didn't end there. I have had several support tickets open with them for silly issues that should not have happened or need to be reported. There were 3 support tickets opened to tell them that my website has been unavailable on average of 20 minutes to hours at times. These were unexpected downtimes that they simply shrugged their shoulders at. One time my support ticket was closed by them and the problem was never solved! I had to open ANOTHER support ticket to tell them that they didn't resolve my problem or even answer me properly. I have been more than patient with them and just today I signed up with another host. Don’t be fooled by their fancy looking site or pricing for packages. I hope you don’t experience them. Sincerely, Brady Lanter webmaster@flipmode.com

I started with UplinkEarth several years ago and at the time they were fantastic. Tech support was answered within an hour and the issue was usually solved. But in the last six months things have changed completely. I have worked with several hosting companies, and UplinkEarth has just broken the record for the worst tech support I've ever experienced over an extended period of time. When a server goes down, you should expect that a web host would make it a priority to get it up and running, and hopefully have it restored within a day. Well, it now takes UplinkEarth a week to restore a down server. A WEEK of downtime. I have sites on two servers with them. Two weeks ago, one server went down and then a week later, the other server went down. They reported it as working a couple days later but they hadnt bothered to hook up FTP, SSL Security, or the databases. It took 8-10 separate tickets to get them to attempt to fix these, and when one thing would get fixed, another would break. They generally dont respond to a ticket until 24 hours later, and then you might just get a "It appears to be working" when it clearly isnt. They would close tickets without reading them, and fail to answer questions. I honestly dont know what happened- maybe they outsourced the tech support to another country. Maybe they offered an incentive plan for each closed ticket, whether it was read or the issue was fixed or not. Whatever it is, I advise anyone to stay away from this hosting company unless they're comfortable with having their sites down for weeks at a time.
